Luke is complete!

I have finished Luke the Lion. He came in a pattern kit and is part of the Wild Friends range.

I found Luke easier to knit than Mike because he is simply garter stitch with hardly any body or limb shaping required. The only time consuming knitting part was the stripes, but they really make the pattern I think!

Completing Luke was harder than Mike though as there were bullion, straight and satin stitching required, as well as french knots for his freckles but with a little help from Youtube I think he turned out perfectly!

Hope you enjoy his pictures.

Luke the Lion

So after Mike I have decided to try Luke. I started him today 23/12/2009 and hope he turns out just as cute. I had already bought Luke in a kit form so this pattern is in my Wild Friends book but in 4 really cool colours not the traditional colours of Butter & Rust as you can see in the picture below that I got in my kit.

He came with 2 skeins (1 of each colour) and I am using 3mm needles. Will post more pictures when he is complete.

Cheers

Mike the Monkey

So -- recently I came across a range of books by a company called Saleutions Pty Ltd. They have a range of patterns called Wild Friends which I totally fell in love with. The pattern book and yarn was on sale @ Kmart so I bought some materials and decided to start off with Mike the Monkey.

He comes with two skeins of wool - Beige & Java and I finished him off on 22nd December 2009. I think he is just adorable and will make a great addition to a friend's nursery whom just recently gave birth to a baby boy!

Isn't Mike just too cute?

Knit & Yarn!

Hi there!!

A little about me - I am 28 years old, engaged to a wonderful man. We both were born and live in Sydney, Australia and have a beautiful Chocolate Labrador furkid who turned 2 on December 18th! We are set to marry on April 3rd, 2010.

Well, after I became addicted to knitting a few months ago (thanks to a wonderful friend of mine) I have been making loads of different projects. Lots of people have been interested in seeing my latest finished items, so rather than keep emailing everyone photo's I have decided to create a blog to help all those interested keep up with my current projects!

I have been knitting for 4 months now and consider myself an intermediate knitter, I love knitting! My current obsession is children/baby objects (toys, clothes etc). I have so much yarn stored at home it is taking over our quaint little home and enough projects waiting in the wings to keep me occupied for at least 6-8 months!

So - Knit & Yarn is here!  Welcome and I hope you enjoy my photo's.

Cheers,
Sarah x
